(June 6, 1957 - February 26, 2026)

Theresa Shifflett Johnson, 68, was Promoted to Glory to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Stuarts Draft. She was a devout Christian, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and, most importantly, a servant of Jesus Christ.

Theresa was born on June 6, 1957, in Waynesboro, Virginia, to the late Christine Helen (Wolfe) and Leroy Shifflett, who raised her in a faith-filled home. She was a lifetime member of the Waynesboro Salvation Army Church. There, she served as a soldier and as secretary of the Home League & Women’s Ministries. Through her ministry, she participated in and led many activities. She especially enjoyed Women's Retreats and Scrapbooking/DIY weekends. At these events, she shared her talents in crafts such as crocheting, scrapbooking, sewing, and other creative projects. Theresa devoted her life to spreading the love of Jesus throughout her community. She also found great joy in spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She spent many years as a bookkeeper, Avon representative, and owned her own seamstress business.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bruce Johnson; sons, Eddie Johnson and wife, Robin, and Forrest Johnson; daughter, Christy Meadows, and husband, DJ; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaela, and Lillie Meadows, and Xander and Bentley Johnson; brothers, Clifton and Leslie Shifflett; and sisters Linda Mortin and Angela Engleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 900 B Street, Waynesboro.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at The Salvation Army of Waynesboro with a committal service at Augusta Memorial Park immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Waynesboro Salvation Army, 900 B Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
